Israeli archaeologist Eli Shukron walks along  an archaeological dig of a tunnel made by Israel's Antiquities Authority.The Tunnel  will enable visitors to cross under the walls of Jerusalem's Old City, not far from the Temple Mount. The tunnel, which was uncovered during excavations conducted over the past few months, was formerly used for drainage and dates back to the Second Temple. It links the City of David in Silwan with the Archaeological Park & Davidson Center, which is located near the Western Wall

 Bulldozers, working under Israeli police protection, demolish part of the former Hotel Shepherd complex in Arab east Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood to make way for 20 new homes for Jewish settlers. The now-dilapidated former hotel was once the residence of Jerusalem's mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini, who became infamous for his ties to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
